“Practical” can often mean “shorn of magic”.
When I do a thing, I rarely want to do it practically.
I do it messily. Magic emerges from imperfection.
I’ve been raised, of late, by the wisdom of Sophie Strand.
Sophie has alchemised her 30 years of suffering, study, connection, and joy into a remarkable wisdom that is deep, broad, and articulated with a rare clarity.
Sophie familiarises us with death, the death which we all must face, and with what comes after death: compost.
This interview with Sophie- Death is the Problem Solver - is fantastic. I found the interviewer a little irritating, but Sophie’s answers are manna.
